Second direct connection from Sabiha Gökçen to Austria: Graz

Direct flights have begun from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Graz, Austria's second-largest city. Pegasus Airlines will operate three flights a week to Graz, its second Austrian destination after Vienna.

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (ISG) International Airport, Europe's eighth-busiest airport in terms of passenger numbers, continues to directly connect major European hubs to Istanbul through partnerships. Flights to Graz (GRZ), the capital of the Austrian state of Styria, will be operated three times a week by Pegasus Airlines: Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Flights on the new route began today (May 30, 2025). The ceremony held at the terminal for the first Graz flight departing from Sabiha Gökçen was a colorful spectacle. A photo booth themed around traditional Austrian attire, located in the gate area, was a hit with passengers. Guests were treated to chocolate at the gate before their flight.

Sabiha Gökçen Airport, the home base of Türkiye's budget airlines AJet and Pegasus Airlines, currently has daily flights to Vienna (VIE), the capital of Austria. Pegasus Airlines' Graz route connects the country's second-largest city to Istanbul via Sabiha Gökçen. With its Graz connection, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport provides access to 146 destinations in 52 countries, including 107 international and 39 domestic destinations.

History, art, nature and dynamism come together in Graz

An important administrative center during the Habsburg Dynasty, Graz attracts visitors with its historical and cultural heritage. Graz's Old Town (Altstadt) was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. With a population of approximately 300,000, the city is also known for its Schlossberg Hill. Its historic clock tower (Uhrturm) and the Graz Art Museum (Kunsthaus), notable for its modern architecture, are among the city's landmarks. As one of Europe's leading student cities, Graz boasts a young and dynamic atmosphere, welcoming visitors with a rich gastronomic cuisine. Offering easy access to nearby destinations such as Slovenia and Hungary, Graz offers hiking and cycling enthusiasts a natural setting nestled in the shadow of the Alps.
