New service for tourists in Lodz

#ŁódźIsReady for tourism and making sightseeing even easier. The city is coming back to life.

Life in Łódź is slowly getting back to normal after restrictions connected with COVID-19 pandemic. More and more spots are open again and sanitary restrictions are lowered. We are still asked to keep social distance but wearing a mask is only obligatory in crowded public places, public transport and indoors. Most hotels and restaurants are operating again although they have to comply with coronavirus sanitary restrictions. Cultural spots are slowly coming back to life. Part of museums and art galleries are now open, also EC1 (big education and science centre) Palm House, ZOO and Botanic Garden are inviting visitors again.

We are still waiting for borders’ opening and allowing passengers to fly outside the country which should be possible in the middle of the month.

Preparing for tourists and visitors to come back to our city, Lodz Tourist Organization presented a new service. Alongside with Hanna Zdanowska, the president of Lodz, they announced launching a new and promising project of Lodz Travel and Citizens Card. This card will allow to travel in the city and visit local attractions. It is similar to cards used in other cities in Poland and around the world and will be an important component of the return to normality after COVID-19. It will encourage residents and tourists to use the city's cultural, sightseeing and gastronomic offer with benefits and in a modern and simple way – as a card in the wallet or a mobile app. At the same time, it will promote local residents and businesses. Implementation of the Lodz Travel and Citizens Card is scheduled for September 2020.
