Lodz Airport: new route for summer 2020

New connection Lodz-Varna will be served once a week from July.

We have just announced a new regular connection from Lodz. From 7th July, Voyage Air will fly to Varna. The plane will take passengers from Lodz to the Black Sea every Tuesday.

For several years, Bulgaria has not fallen off the podium of Poles' favourite holiday destinations. Sandy beaches, warm sea, good cuisine and low prices attract to Bulgaria. In the summer, temperatures on the Black Sea shores are very pleasant, not so hot as in the Mediterranean. For some Poles, vacation in Bulgaria is a sentimental journey. They are happy to return to the places where they spent summer in the 70s and 80s. A lot has changed in Bulgaria since then, including the standard of hotels, infrastructure on beaches and in holiday resorts.

Artur Fraj, CCO of the Lodz Airport: "If it wasn't for the coronavirus, charter planes would fly from Lodz to the Greek islands, Turkey and Bulgaria from May. It is not known when touroperators will decide to start summer charters and whether all the destinations we planned will return to the flight schedule. We expect the charter season to start in August and last until late autumn. I will definitely fly from Lodz to Varna. For me, Varna is a sentimental destination, because as a small boy I often spent holidays with my parents in Bulgaria, in Varna. I had a Bulgarian grandmother who I called "babushka Varna" and she called me "Artusza".

The connection to Varna will be served by the Bulgarian airline Voyage Air on a Boeing 737-500 aircraft, which takes 126 passengers on board. There were several publications in aviation and local media about this new route: www.pasazer.comwww.rynek-lotniczy.pl  and dzienniklodzki.pl.

From 1st July 2020 also Ryanair resumes its routes from Lodz. Once more flights to London, Dublin and East Midlands will take off from our airport. Olga Pawlonka, Marketing and Sales Director for Central and Eastern Europe at Ryanair, said that she is happy to reopen routes from Lodz and this way help people to reconnect with families and friend and allow tourists to visit Lodz again. The press release about resuming flights from our airport was posted by the airline yesterday.
