Lodz Airport: American tech giant focuses on Łódź!

Dell Technologies will open a software research and development center

The American company Dell Technologies has decided to open a software research and development center in Poland - most likely in Łódź!

More details of this significant and prestigious investment were provided in an interview with "Rzeczpospolita" by Aongus Hegarty, Head of International Markets at Dell Technologies.

Mr. Hegarty emphasized that Poland is a very important market for the company. One of the basic selection criteria for Dell Technologies was the high availability of talented, highly qualified employees. The technologies to be developed in Poland will be among the most modern and groundbreaking worldwide.

"It will be about creating software. It may seem that Dell is a company naturally associated with hardware rather than software. In fact, 80%. our R&D engineers are specialists who create software for our systems. This is now a very important part of developing new products." - adds Aongus Hegarty.

Poland could be a place with even more investment. Dell Technologies is currently considering locations for a new logistics hub in Europe. One of the places under consideration is the city of Łódź.

"What is important here, for example, is the location in the middle of Europe, at the intersection of North-South and East-West routes. This was one of the reasons why we chose Łódź to build a factory. There is a railway connection to China. Although trains run for two weeks, it is much faster than the sea and much cheaper than airways," - said Aongus Hegarty, in an interview with "Rzeczpospolita"

This American technology giant has been operating in Poland since 1992 when it decided to open its first sales office in our country. In 2007, Dell invested in constructing a factory in Łódź, which supplies customers of the American company from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
