THE NEW AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER

The investor of the new tower is the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. Construction and equipment of the new Rzeszow air traffic control tower is part of the project "Infrastructure development of the state air traffic management body" and is co-financed by the European Union within the Cohesion Fund under the Infrastructure and Environment Programme. The total investment is nearly 20 m PLN.

The cost of the project comprises design, construction works, and operating and office equipment.
Only operating consoles at control desks, installation of the radio communication system and IT equipment and teletransmission hardware cost more than 2 m PLN.
Even today, the process of transferring new work posts to the Rzeszow air traffic controllers will begin. The construction of the air traffic control tower at the Rzeszow –Jasionka Airport ended in August last year.

The structure consists of a six-storey air traffic control tower and a lower two-storey building as administrative and technical facilities.

The main building – a 33-meter-high air traffic control tower in Jasionka, of the area of 14 thousand square meters, replaced the old one from the 1970s. Comparable to the size of the Gdansk air traffic control tower, it was equipped with the latest navigation devices and solutions for safe bringing of aircraft to the airport, which minimizes the time required for establishing communication. In addition, it has the correspondence registration systems and the radar imaging system.
