Latest London 2012 Shop opens at London Stansted Airport

With just under a year to go until the London 2012 Games, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has opened its latest shop, at London Stansted Airport. Wenlock (the London 2012 Olympic mascot), Mandeville (the London 2012 Paralympic mascot) and LOCOG Head of Licensing Simon Lilley were on hand to perform the honours and cut the ceremonial ribbon.

The latest in the chain of London 2012 Shops, which has launched exciting new product ranges, is situated in London Stansted Airport and will give an even wider range of international and domestic travellers the opportunity to stock up on a piece of sporting history as they pass through the terminal.

Simon Lilley commented: “This latest shop opening offers an increased opportunity for London 2012 to connect to UK travellers and international visitors, offering them a great chance to take home a piece of the Games. The range of products on offer is huge and the diversity really means there is something for everyone – from pocket-money toys to collectables.”

Martin Lyall Operations Director at London Stansted Airport commented: “We are delighted to welcome the new London 2012 shop to Stansted Airport. It provides travellers with a great opportunity to share in the excitement which the London 2012 Games will generate.”
