Warsaw Chopin Airport after 3Q close to last year’s record result

Despite the end of the holiday peak, the popularity of flights from Warsaw Airport is not diminishing. In September, as in the previous month, the airport handled 24% more passengers than in the same period of last year.

In September 2017 1,65 million people have used the services of Chopin Airport. During three quarters of 2017, 12.05 million passengers were handled at the airport, an increase of 24.5%.

In the period from January to September 2017, 10.42 million passengers traveled in international traffic (an increase of approx. 20%), and in domestic traffic 1.62 million passengers (an increase of 68%). Currently, every fourth passenger uses Chopin Airport as a transit port

"The observed increase results mainly from a greater number and larger frequency of connections, larger machines performing flights and better load factor. It is also the result of the Poles' great interest in spending their holidays abroad " says Hubert Wojciechowski, director of the Marketing and PR Bureau of Warsaw Chopin Airport. "We are very pleased that such a large number of passengers treat our airport as a hub, a transit point" - he adds.

In September, Warsaw Airport introduced important and practical amenities for passengers - a water fountain with free drinking water and telephones from which you can make free calls to domestic fixed and mobile numbers.
