About The Airport

Ghana Airports Company Limited commenced operations in January 2007 with responsibility for planning, developing, managing and maintaining all airports in Ghana including Kotoka International Airport and five domestic airports namely Kumasi, Sunyani, Tamale, Ho, and Wa.  In the last decade and more, GACL has made significant infrastructural investments aimed at transforming and modernizing operations at all its airports leading to an overall increase in operational capacity and efficiency.  Currently, Kotoka International Airport is served by 36 airlines and has an annual passenger throughput of over 2.3, up from 1 million in 2007.

The recently completed iconic Terminal 3 at Kotoka International Airport is built on approximately 150,000m2 land area, designed to handle 5 million passengers per annum and process 1,250 passengers per hour.  It consists of six (6) Fixed Bridges, three (3) Business Class Lounges, a fully automated Baggage System, a Commercially Important Passenger Terminal and 7,000m2 of commercial and retail areas.  The new Terminal fits into GACL’s vision to position Ghana as the aviation hub and leader in airport business in West Africa.
