Cyprus Airports See Strong Growth in First Half of 2025

Cyprus’ two international airports, Larnaka and Pafos, have recorded a significant increase in passenger traffic during the first six months of 2025, reflecting a rising travel demand and the island’s growing appeal as a tourist destination, also during the months of winter season.

According to official figures, total passenger traffic reached 5,671,326, marking an 11.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Larnaka Airport remained the primary gateway, handling 4,095,827 passengers — recording an 18% increase compared to the same period last year. Pafos Airport welcomed 1,575,499 travellers, with traffic levels remaining stable. This growth is attributed to expanded airline schedules and increased connectivity to several European destinations, the introduction of new routes and airlines— such as Saudia’s launch of flights to Riyadh and SkyUp’s return to the island with five routes — and a strong tourism season.

The momentum is expected to continue into the second half of the year, with further increases anticipated during the peak summer months.
