Cyprus Airports Report Highest Monthly Traffic Ever

July 2025 marked the busiest month ever recorded at the two international airports of Cyprus, with a total of 1,653,880 passengers traveling through Larnaka and Pafos airports.
This record-breaking month is part of a broader trend of growth in air travel to and from Cyprus. Between January and July 2025, the airports welcomed 7.3 million passengers, representing an 11.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
The island’s popularity during the summer season continues to be a key driver, with strong leisure demand from both traditional and emerging markets contributing to growth in airline activity, airport operations, and the wider tourism sector.
Key Drivers of Growth
Several factors have contributed to this exceptional performance:
- Strong market momentum from countries including Israel, the United Kingdom, Poland, Greece, Armenia, and Germany, which together accounted for 70% of the overall growth.
- Airline performance has played a significant role, with 40 out of 58 airlines operating in Cyprus showing increased activity. Noteworthy growth was recorded by Wizz Air, Aegean, Cyprus Airways, TUI Group, LOT, and Air Haifa, which have driven 60% of the market’s expansion.
- The introduction of 5 new airlines and 6 new routes during the first seven months of 2025 has further enhanced connectivity and passenger traffic.
