Cyprus Airports Achieve ‘First Time Ever’ Milestones in August 2025

August 2025 was a landmark month for Cyprus Airports, delivering a series of first-time-ever achievements and setting new records in passenger traffic.

With a total of 1,802,465 passengers, August became the busiest month ever, showing a 12% increase compared to the same month in 2024. The average daily traffic reached more than 58,000 passengers, with the busiest day recorded on Wednesday, 20 August (over 64,000 passengers) and the busiest weekend on 23–24 August (more than 127,000 passengers).

This strong performance rounded out the busiest summer months ever for Cyprus Airports, with 4.9 million passengers handled between June and August, representing an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Larnaka Airport (LCA)

LCA reached a major milestone by handling over 1.1 million passengers for three consecutive months (June–August)—a first in its history. This consistent performance highlights Larnaka’s growing importance as a key driver of Cyprus’s connectivity.

Pafos Airport (PFO)

PFO also celebrated a historic achievement, welcoming more than 500,000 passengers in August alone—its best month ever. This reflects the regional airport’s rising popularity and its expanding contribution in the island’s tourism and travel landscape.

These results confirm the strong momentum of Cyprus Airports, and with August setting new benchmarks, Hermes Airports now look ahead to an even stronger winter season.

Hermes Airports, as the operator of Larnaka and Pafos airports, is focused on continuously enhancing the island's connectivity, addressing also the seasonality gaps. This is achieved through a targeted strategy that includes campaigns to attract underserved routes and deepen penetration into key markets. These efforts are supported by strategic partnerships with tourism authorities and airlines, as well as airline incentive schemes.
