Strong Connectivity Supports Cyprus Airport Performance

Passenger traffic at Cyprus’ airports remained strong during the peak summer season, with a total of 1,774,745 passengers travelling through Larnaka and Pafos airports in August 2026. Traffic volumes were just 1% below those recorded in August 2025, highlighting the resilience of the market and sustained demand for travel to Cyprus.

Pafos Airport delivered particularly strong results, recording a 5% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic. The growth reflects enhanced connectivity and an expanding range of travel options available to passengers.

Year-to-date performance for the January-August 2026 period shows that passenger traffic was 3% lower compared to the corresponding period in 2025, narrowing the gap recorded earlier in the year due to the geopolitical challenges affecting the region and the wider aviation industry.

It is worth noting that these comparisons are being made against 2025, the strongest year on record for Cyprus airports in terms of passenger traffic.

Cyprus continues to maintain strong air connectivity, with 54 airlines currently operating services to and from Larnaka and Pafos airports. The airline mix includes network, low-cost and hybrid carriers, ensuring a balanced and diverse connectivity portfolio that links Cyprus with 165 destinations across 42 countries in Europe and the Middle East.
