Growth potential for leisure routes and charters – Kajaani Airport

Arctic Lakeland Finland combines the Arctic experiences of Finnish Lapland with the lake landscapes of Finnish Lakeland. Kajaani Airport provides access to seven holiday destinations within transfer times of 0.5–2.5 hours.

International leisure demand is proven through charter flights from Paris, Amsterdam and Manchester.

The region shows strong potential for new leisure routes and charters thanks to growing international awareness, proven tour operator interest and scalable tourism capacity. Winter demand is particularly strong from the Netherlands, Germany and Central Europe.

Arctic Lakeland offers around 14,000 beds, including about 10,000 in Vuokatti. New routes are supported through joint marketing, tour operator cooperation and incentives from Finavia and Visit Finland.
