Three new routes to France

ASL Airlines France celebrates maiden flights from Hamburg to Marseilles, Lyon and Bordeaux

The French airline ASL Airlines France is launching three new routes between Hamburg and France. The airline today celebrated the maiden flights on its new services to the major French cities Marseilles and Lyon, with flight to Bordeaux to follow from 13 May. ASL Airlines France will fly to both Marseilles and Lyon on Mondays and Fridays, and to Bordeaux on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The routes will be operated with 147-seat Boeing 737-300 aircraft.

“Thanks to the commitment of ASL Airlines France, we can offer our passengers even more variety in the route network,” says Michael Eggenschwiler, CEO of Hamburg Airport. “Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseilles are completely new destinations that were previously not on offer in our timetable. The routes are attractive for both business travellers and holidaymakers, and the take-up amongst our passengers is certain to be strong.”

“I am delighted to announce the launch of the routes from Hamburg to Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseilles – three of France’s major cities. These routes will link regions with strong economic and touristic appeal, thereby catering both to a business and a leisure clientele. With the opening of these new routes we are reinforcing our aim to be a unique airline and standing by the words of our motto: planes for people”, says Jean-François Dominiak, CEO of ASL Airlines France.

Calling all football fans! Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseilles will be hosting matches in this year’s European Cup football tournament in June and July 2016. Furthermore, the three new cities are attractive for business travellers as strong economic locations and as variety-filled tourist destinations for holidaymakers. Bordeaux is a listed UNESCO world heritage site and the perfect starting point for visiting France’s Atlantic coast. Lyon is often referred to as the “city of lights”, and thanks to its well-preserved old city it is also listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, with numerous historic attractions. The holiday resorts of the popular Côte d’Azur are only a short distance from the port city of Marseilles. Furthermore, Marseille and Hamburg are twin cities since more that 50 years and have strong cultural and economic links.

Flights to Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseilles are available from 49 euros per person one-way (incl. all taxes and fees). Bookings are now available online at www.aslairlines.fr and in travel agencies.
