About The Airline
Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) is the national flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Currently in its 74th year of operations, the airline is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO).
In 2018 the airline carried more than 34 million passengers and flies to more than 90 destinations across four continents.
SAUDIA flies a mix of Airbus and Boeing aircraft, with the latest aircraft types, including the Boeing 777-300, Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A330 Regional, of which SAUDIA is the ‘Global Launch Customer and Operator’ of. The fleet is set to reach 200 aircraft by the end of 2020.
SAUDIA is currently on an accelerated transformation track, revitalizing every aspect of its airline business, from operations, to fleet management, network growth and optimization; guest experience and expanding Hajj and Umrah capacity.
At the 2017 Paris Air Show, SAUDIA earned the title “World’s Most Improved Airline of 2017” by ‘Skytrax’, the international air transport rating organization at the Skytrax annual awards.
The award recognizes an airline’s growth and improvement across a number of categories, in a single year.
On September 25, 2018, SAUDIA announced its partnership with the ABB FIA Formula E Championship as the official airline partner of the all-electric series, and was the race title partner of the inaugural SAUDIA Ad Diriyah E-Prix, which took place on December 15, 2018.
SAUDIA joined the SKYTEAM alliance in 2012 and is one of 20 member airlines. The airline has codeshare partners with: Garuda Indonesia, Czech Airlines, Etihad Airways, China Southern Airlines, Air France, Royal Air Maroc, Alitalia, Korean Airlines, KLM, Middle East Airlines, Aeroflot, Air Europa and Oman Air.
