Vietnam Airlines launches direct Ho Chi Minh City – Phuket route from April 2026
From April 2, 2026, Vietnam Airlines will officially operate a direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Phuket (Thailand), with a frequency of five flights per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The service will be operated by Airbus A321 aircraft, contributing to the expansion of the airline’s Southeast Asia network.

With a flight time of approximately two hours, the new route significantly shortens travel duration between the two destinations, eliminating the need for transit connections within the region. This provides passengers with a more convenient, time-efficient, and cost-effective travel option, while enhancing overall travel experience between Vietnam and Thailand.

The launch of the Ho Chi Minh City – Phuket route not only strengthens air connectivity between the two countries but also meets the growing demand for travel, tourism, and trade. Phuket is one of the region’s leading beach destinations, while Ho Chi Minh City serves as a dynamic economic and cultural hub of Vietnam, creating favorable conditions to boost two-way passenger flows.

The new service further reinforces regional air transport networks, supporting tourism growth, trade activities, and economic cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand, while enhancing ASEAN connectivity. It also underscores the role of Vietnam’s airport system in improving connectivity capacity and advancing international integration.
