Bahrain International Airport (BIA) is a strategic gateway that connects the Kingdom of Bahrain with the world. It is the most modern boutique airport in the Gulf and was named the World's Best Airport for Baggage Delivery in the year 2023 & the Best Airport staff in the Middle East 2023.
With its advanced technology and convenience-oriented approach, the new Passenger Terminal enhances efficiency and security while meeting passengers’ growing expectations for a more seamless airport experience. For example, the state-of-the-art ICT system, with ‘Smart Airport’ mechanism processes, streamlines travel procedures, giving passengers more control over their journeys.
This futuristic new terminal is designed to deliver comfort and connections with a more personal feel. Its world-class capabilities and wide range of commercial outlets have further strengthened BIA’s position among the world’s top airports.
At 210,000 sqm, the new Passenger Terminal is four times larger than the legacy airport. It increases BIA’s capacity to 14 million passengers and 130,000 air traffic movements per year with a handling capacity of 4,700 bags per peak hour.

The Bahrain Airport Hotel & Spa offers transit passengers a variety of accommodation types and facilities. Meanwhile, a dedicated team of healthcare professionals is on hand around the clock to provide the best possible medical services at the Airport Clinic.
Bahraini art, culture, and cuisine are major areas of focus at BIA, which houses two dedicated showrooms hosting regular archaeological, cultural, and art exhibitions. Moreover, Souq Al Qaisarya features a broad selection of local products, food and beverage outlets, Bahraini jewelry, an art gallery, and a theatre, enabling passengers to experience the Kingdom without stepping foot outside the airport.
There are also two premium lounges, which provide a haven away from the bustle of the terminal where guests can rest, work, or refresh before their flights.
