Brno Airport checked-in most passengers historically in one month

In July, Brno Airport checked-in the most passengers in its history. Over 115,000 people passed through the airport. This confirmed the announced increase, the airport was used by 21% more passengers than in the same period last year. At that time, it was about 95 thousand passengers, to be more specific, 95,183. Thanks to the expected increase in the number of seasonal flights to holiday destinations, we managed to reach the highest number of passengers in the history of Brno Airport who passed through the terminal in one month.

"We expected an increase in the number of passengers handled, as the timetable was planned well in advance for July and August only by about 180 more flights than last year. Our preconditions have been fulfilled, thanks to passing the stress test in terms of interest in parking at the airport. After expanding the existing parking capacity by about a third, every passenger will find a comfortable place to park,“ says Radek Lang, Head of the Brno Airport Transport Operations Department.

In addition to seasonal flights, passengers can also take advantage of regular flights to London and Munich during the holidays, where planes from Brno depart every day from Monday to Sunday. In addition, Ryanair recently announced the launch of a new Brno-Milan Bergamo route. Tickets are on sale now and people can travel twice a week between Brno and Bergamo from 28th October 2018.

"We are in the middle of the first summer season of the Accolade Group at Brno Airport and the results are so far excellent. Thank you to the airport staff and especially to the passengers. Besides, by the end of the year, as we have already announced, we will have another increase in traffic with a new regular line Brno - Milan Bergamo. At the same time, we want to focus intensively on the promotion of Brno and the South Moravian Region abroad, so I believe that in addition to passengers heading from Brno abroad, the number of arriving tourists and businessmen will also increase significantly,“ says Milan Kratina, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Brno Airport.

According to the assumptions, the number of checked-in passengers could increase by up to one third this year by the end of the year. More at www.brno-airport.cz.
