Brno Airport parking areas
Brno Airport is investing in the capacity of the car park at the terminal. The existing more than 1,100 parking spaces are growing by third. The construction work is planned so passengers can gradually start using the parking spaces.
"It is not a problem to park at the airport this summer season. There are plenty of spots," says Milan Kratina, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Brno Airport. “We are investing in expanding the capacity of the car park for long-term parking because this is where the largest part of the proposals for improving the airport's services went from the passengers. I expect that our investments in the development of the airport will gradually be reflected primarily in the higher number of passengers departing and arriving in Brno," adds Kratina.
"Some travel agencies provide their clients with free parking far away from the airport but in the case of using these parking lots, we recommend that you take enough time for transfer. However, as of this season, concerns of some travel agencies of not finding a free parking spot at the airport are no longer valid. You can park at our new car park now," emphasizes Martin Vild, Marketing Manager of Brno Airport.
In July and August, the airport handles over one hundred thousand passengers each month. These are mainly families using charter flights to their holiday destinations. The summer season is thus full for air carriers due to the high occupancy of aircraft. "That is why some flights are delayed time to time, which we have to deal with at the airport. However, the same irregularities affect all international airports in the Czech Republic or abroad,“ adds Vild.
In this summer season, Brno Airport expects up to third higher traffic and the number of passengers compared to last year. Already in July, the airport broke the record for one month, when it handled over 115,000 passengers. At the same time, a new Ryanair route was brought to Brno; the Brno - Milan Bergamo route, which will fly for the first time on a very symbolic date of October 28, g.e. the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
And therefore, in the future, Brno Airport wants to further modernize and expand the car park according to current demand. An intelligent parking system should also be added, which will inform the driver about the number of free spaces in the area, allow interested parties to order the parking space electronically in advance and also navigate them directly to the place itself.
