Curaçao International Airport wins prestigious Routes Americas Awards 2026
Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP N.V.), proud operator of Curaçao International Airport (CUR), is honored to announce that the airport has received the highly coveted Routes Americas Awards 2026 in the Under 5 Million Passengers category.
CUR was shortlisted alongside some of the most respected air service development teams in the industry, including Queen Beatrix International Airport (Aruba), Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Puerto Escondido International Airport, Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport, and Tucson International Airport.
The Routes Americas Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of the global air service development community and recognize airports and airlines that demonstrate excellence in route development, collaboration, and partnership. The awards ceremony took place at the iconic Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro during the closing evening of Routes Americas 2026 on March 4, 2026.
Airports shortlisted for this recognition are nominated directly by airlines, highlighting the strength of their relationships and the effectiveness of their route development strategies. For Curaçao, this award is above all a recognition of teamwork and partnership across the entire aviation and tourism ecosystem of the island.
Several airline partners highlighted CUR’s consistency, transparency, growth orientation, and constructive collaboration. One partner emphasized that their experience with the airport is “characterized by a continuous partnership approach, one based on trust, transparency, and a shared interest in sustainable growth”. Another partner noted that CUR’s willingness to collaborate, adapt, and provide strategic support has made Curaçao “a valuable and dependable destination within our network”.
An airline judge also remarked:
“This airport saw a particularly impressive year despite challenges. It is clear that they work incredibly closely with airline partners and local stakeholders to ensure sustainable growth.”
This achievement reflects the collective effort of many partners who share a common vision for strengthening Curaçao’s connectivity and economic development.
Curaçao Airport Partners would like to recognize the invaluable collaboration of Curaçao Airport Holding, whose strategic guidance and long-term commitment to the development of Curaçao International Airport continue to play an essential role in positioning the airport as a key gateway for the island.
CAP also extends its sincere appreciation to the Government of Curaçao, and particularly to the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Roderick Middelhof, for their continued support in strengthening aviation connectivity and enabling the conditions necessary for sustainable growth.
Finally, CAP would like to thank its airline partners for their trust and collaboration, as well as the strong partnership with the Curaçao Tourist Board and the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association, whose joint efforts continue to strengthen Curaçao’s position as a competitive and attractive destination in the Caribbean.
This award is a testament to the power of collaboration, trust, and shared vision. Together, we continue to position Curaçao as a vibrant and growing gateway in the Caribbean. At CUR, the airport is truly more than a hello and a goodbye.
