American Airlines celebrates 55 years of service in Curaçao
American launched operations to Curaçao on March 3, 1971, with a flight from New York
CURACAO — American Airlines is celebrating 55 years of service in Curaçao, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s long-standing commitment to the country. American began operating in Curaçao on March 3, 1971, with a flight from New York (JFK) to Hato International Airport (CUR). Today, Curaçao is home to four local team members.

During the winter holiday period, American introduced new seasonal service to Chicago (ORD) and operated more than 22 peak weekly departures from Curaçao to the U.S., reflecting a capacity growth of more than 15% compared to the previous year. For the spring travel period, the airline will offer 14 weekly flights to Miami (MIA), daily service to Charlotte (CLT) and weekly service to ORD.
