Basel is a new destination launched on 29 October 2013 by easyJet and Krakow Airport. Flights are scheduled three times a week - on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

The first inaugural flights to Krakow and back to Basel were boarded by 120 and 70 passengers, respectively. The passengers were welcomed by representatives of Krakow Airport: Grzegorz Michorek, Commercial Director and Paweł Galiak, Aviation Services Manager, and the representatives of Welcome Airport Services (ground handling services operator for easyJet, also representing the company at the airport): Wiesław Mardosz, Director of Krakow Branch and Magdalena Roehlich. The inauguration was celebrated with special cupcakes for all passengers.

After Zurich, Basel is the second city in Switzerland with direct air connection with Krakow. It’s an unforgettable place for weekend trips as well as a base for the escapades to the Alps, both in summer and winter seasons.

Basel is a second new easyJet destination from Krakow Airport launched this year. Krakow – London Southend (SEN) route was inaugurated on 17 June. EasyJet is the second biggest airline at Krakow Airport, offering weekly 37 flights from Krakow to 8 European airports. Last year the airline served 426,559 passengers flying to and from Krakow and performed 2,974 airport operations.
