RFD Reports November Traffic Increase

Rockford, IL – The Chicago Rockford International Airport today released passenger traffic numbers for November 2012. The airport recognized a 4.8% increase in passengers with 14,181 passengers flying in and out in November. Overall flights during the month were 90% full.

Year-To-Date traffic continues to increase with the first eleven months of the year up 13.2% from the same time period in 2011. Through November, 195,279 passengers have used RFD, up from 172,553 in 2011. It also represents a milestone passing the entire 2011 passenger number of 190,767. Overall for the year-to-date flights have been 89% full.

“With our focus on leisure travel, we have opened up opportunities this year to Denver and Punta Cana. Both of these flights have had a significant impact on our passenger numbers in 2012. Next year is already starting to look good with the addition of Montego Bay, Jamaica in January and restored service to the Ft. Myers area in February” said Mike Dunn.

The Chicago Rockford International Airport is served by three airlines Allegiant, Apple Vacations and Frontier. The three airlines service nine non-stop destinations. RFD currently has flights to Cancun, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix, Punta Cana and Tampa Bay. Apple Vacations service to Montego Bay, Jamaica begins January 28th. Allegiant service to Ft. Myers via Punta Gorda begins February 14th.
