RFD Releases September Passenger Numbers

Year-to-Date Traffic up 5.4%

Rockford, Ill. – The Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) released traffic statistics for September 2013. Reports show a decrease in traffic over September of 2012. The decrease can be attributed to the end of Frontier service to Denver and the reduction of seasonal service to Orlando and Punta Gorda. Flights departing in September averaged a 93% load factor.

“We continue to explore options to bring popular destination airline service to RFD and with the resumption of Punta Gorda service last week, remain on track to outpace 2012 passenger traffic with a 90% load factor,” said Mike Dunn, RFD Director.

Monthly Traffic Statistics
September 2013 – 9,689 Passengers
September 2012 – 13,147 Passengers

Year-To-Date Statistics
January – September 2013 – 175,206 Passengers
January – September 2012 – 166,249 Passengers

RFD is served by two airlines: Allegiant and Apple Vacations. RFD serves eight non-stop destinations including Cancun, Ft. Myers, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix, Puerto Vallarta, Punta Cana and Tampa Bay. RFD was named the 2013 Primary Airport of the Year by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Division of Aeronautics. For more information on RFD and flight schedules, visit FlyRFD.com.
