RFD Releases 2013 Passenger Numbers

Rockford, Ill. – The Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) released traffic statistics for December 2013. Reports show an increase of 3.9% in traffic over December of 2012. Flights departing in December averaged an 89% load factor.

Overall annual traffic boasts a 3.5% increase and 91% load factor, making 2013 RFD’s all-time busiest year since the return of passenger service. The successful year can be attributed to the addition of destinations, flight frequencies and an increase in charter passengers. Since the return of air service in 2003, RFD has served more than 1.8 million passengers.

“Our continued focus on listening to passenger needs and securing desired leisure destinations was a strong factor in the success of 2013. The addition of Punta Gorda, Montego Bay and additional frequencies to Cancun more than made up for the discontinuation of Denver service and we continue to explore additional destinations that will best serve our passengers,” said Mike Dunn, RFD Executive Director.
