New Route to Greenland from Aalborg Airport

In the summer of 2024, it will be possible to fly to Kangerlussuaq in Greenland with Air Greenland from Aalborg Airport. Another unique travel option is therefore added to the route map from Aalborg, where fantastic travel experiences in scenic Greenland are just around the corner.

Imagine hopping on board a plane at Aalborg Airport headed for unforgettable experiences on the edge of the ice cap in adventurous Greenland. It will now be possible when, in the summer of 2024, Air Greenland offers a total of 9 flights from Aalborg to Greenland in the period 25 June to 20 August.

A Summer Route Accommodating Travelers from North Jutland

It will be a Boeing 737-800 from Jettime, with a configuration of 189 passengers, operating on behalf of Air Greenland and setting course from Aalborg Airport across the Atlantic to the experience-rich Greenland. It is not a non-stop route, as there will be a short stop in Copenhagen to pick up new passengers, after which the trip continues directly to Kangerlussuaq.

- We have the option of flying to and from Aalborg Airport on Tuesdays, with a stop in Copenhagen and on to and from Kangerlussuaq. With this, we hope to accommodate customers who want to travel to and from North Jutland, says CCO Henrik Søe from Air Greenland.

Unique Travel Experiences in Greenland and an Expanded Cargo Potential

Greenland, the world's largest island, is known for its impressive arctic landscape. It is undoubtedly a magnificent place, where icebergs and glaciers dominate the horizon, and it is a paradise for nature lovers and adventurous travelers who can experience everything from iceberg safaris to the exciting Inuit culture.

- At Aalborg Airport, we have experienced a great demand for a route to Greenland – both from corporates and especially from leisure travelers who, for example, dream of experiencing a hike on the ice cap. It is therefore great and welcomed news that Air Greenland this summer can offer a unique travel option from Aalborg to Kangerlussuaq, says CEO Niels Hemmingsen and continues: At the same time, it creates some good conditions for expanding the cargo potential over the North Atlantic, which especially in the last year has been in focus at Aalborg Airport. It is an important part of the route work, which helps to enable a direct non-stop connection to and from Greenland.
