New Direct Non-stop Route to Girona from Aalborg Airport

From the spring of 2024, the beautiful Costa Brava coast will be on the route map from Aalborg Airport when Ryanair flies directly to the Spanish city of Girona, the largest city in northern Catalonia. Consequently, the new year brings another sunny announcement for Danish travelers when their summer vacation dreams are set to come true.

In the midst of the holiday season, there is good news for all travel enthusiasts in Denmark who prioritize sunny cultural experiences when planning their spring and summer trips. Starting from April 1, twice a week, Ryanair will fly directly non-stop to the charming city of Girona in northern Catalonia. The route news opens up opportunities for both a cultural city break in Girona and holiday experiences on the Costa Brava coast, stretching up to the Pyrenees and Southern France.

We are delighted to offer another direct travel option to Southern Europe in 2024, where the route to Girona provides some new and unique holiday experiences—whether you prefer a city break or a relaxing beach holiday. The Costa Brava coast is just a half-hour drive from Girona, where you can stay in one of the beautiful resort towns along the Spanish coast. With two weekly departures, there is also plenty of opportunity for a quick getaway on an extended weekend trip, where you can enjoy the sun and Catalan cuisine. If you are staying longer, it's ideal to combine a holiday in sunny Catalonia with a trip to Southern France, which is less than 100 kilometers away, says CEO Niels Hemmingsen.

Ryanair will fly directly non-stop to Girona from Aalborg Airport on Mondays and Fridays from April 1 to October 25. Flight tickets to Girona can be purchased on Ryanair's website with one-way prices starting from DKK 559.

Charming Girona and the Breathtaking Costa Brava
