Norwegian returns to Bratislava Airport after 11 Years with a New Direct Route to Copenhagen

Passengers departing from M. R. Štefánik Airport can take advantage of a new regular air connection to Copenhagen. Norwegian, an airline which has returned to Bratislava Airport after 11 years, launched regular direct flights from Bratislava to Denmark’s capital city Copenhagen on June 28, 2025.

There will be two flights per week between Bratislava and Copenhagen – on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

“We are very pleased that we have once again managed to establish cooperation with the airline Norwegian, which has returned to M. R. Štefánik Airport after nearly eleven years. The airline last connected Bratislava with Copenhagen in 2012 and 2013. We have therefore been working to restore this direct air connection between the capital of Slovakia and Northern Europe not only for Slovak travelers, and I’m very glad that we succeeded,” said Dušan Novota, CEO of M. R. Štefánik Airport.

“We are proud to launch the new route between Bratislava and Copenhagen – an important connection that brings Slovakia closer to the entire Nordic region. This route not only makes it easier for Danish and Nordic travellers to discover Slovakia’s rich culture, nature, and history – it also opens up new opportunities for tourism and business in both directions. It marks another step in strengthening Norwegian’s European network and improving regional connectivity,” says Sara Neergaard, Country Director,  Corporate Affairs at Norwegian.

The airline will operate the flights using Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity of 186 passengers, or Boeing 737-800 MAX with a capacity of 189 passengers.

Tickets for this route can be booked via the airline’s website www.norwegian.com, and due to operational reasons, the flights are available until August 19, 2025.

Norwegian entered the Slovak market on March 28, 2012 with flights from Bratislava to Oslo. On May 3, 2012, they added regular flights to Copenhagen. The Copenhagen route operated until 2013, and flights to Oslo continued until October 2014.
