Wizz Air Expands Bratislava Network with New Bucharest Route

Wizz Air, Europe’s most environmentally sustainable airline , is delighted to announce a new exciting direct route from Bratislava to Bucharest. Flights will operate from the 28th of October with tickets now available on wizzair.com and WIZZ mobile app from just €17.99 (one-way, including all mandatory fees and one carry-on bag).

Located in the heart of Romania, Bucharest is a dynamic city that blends a rich history with modern development. Its landmarks include the Palace of the Parliament, one of the largest administrative buildings in the world, and the historic Lipscani district, known for its cobblestone streets, cafes, and shops. The city also features cultural sites such as the Romanian Atheneum and the Village Museum, offering insights into Romania’s heritage. Bucharest’s vibrant atmosphere and diverse neighborhoods make it an interesting destination for both leisure and business travellers.

This new route from Bratislava will also make it easier for people to visit friends and family in Romania, supporting stronger personal connections and making travel more convenient.

Olivia Harangozo, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, commented: “We are pleased to launch this new route from Bratislava to Bucharest, further expanding our network and offering more affordable travel options. Bucharest’s mix of history, culture, and contemporary life makes it a valuable destination for our customers. We believe this route will facilitate visits to loved ones and encourage greater connectivity between Slovakia and Romania. We look forward to welcoming more travellers on this new service.”

Wizz Air remains committed to enhancing travel connectivity to and from Bratislava while offering low fares and a safe, reliable service across Europe. This is the third Wizz Air route from BTS, alongside direct flights to London Luton and Skopje.

„We are absolutely delighted that Wizz Air has chosen to further expand its network at Bratislava Airport. We are truly happy that, after many years, Bratislava Airport will once again have a direct flight connection to the Romanian capital, Bucharest, starting with the winter schedule. Thanks to the new Wizz Air route, Slovak and other travelers will have a great opportunity to explore the beauty of Bucharest, while Romanian citizens will finally enjoy a direct connection to Slovakia,“ said Bratislava Airport CEO Dusan Novota.
