Wizz Air to Launch Scheduled Flights Between Bratislava and Košice

The Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic has announced the resumption of scheduled flights between Bratislava and Košice after a six-year hiatus.
Following a public tender, Wizz Air has been selected to operate the route, with flights commencing in November.
“I am delighted that we have successfully concluded this PSO tender process, thereby fulfilling our commitment to the public,” said Jozef Ráž, Minister of Transport of the Slovak Republic. “The resumption of direct air connectivity between Bratislava and Košice will significantly reduce travel time between eastern and western Slovakia, while providing passengers with a safe, comfortable, and competitively priced travel option.”
The route will be operated with daily frequencies in both directions. On Mondays and Fridays, passengers will benefit from both morning and afternoon rotations, while on Sundays an evening service will be available. In total 9 weekly rotations will be operated by A321neo aircaft.
Fares will start from €19.99 one-way, with a maximum price of €75 (€85 including checked baggage). Return tickets will be capped at €150 (€170 with checked baggage). Pricing will vary depending on the booking window and seat availability.
The Ministry of Transport will communicate the inaugural flight date and schedule in due course.
