British Airways has announced today a new service between Pittsburgh International Airport and London Heathrow, offering Pittsburgh travelers nonstop flights to London beginning April 2, 2019.

Customers will be able to fly to London on one of the newest aircraft in British Airways’ fleet, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.  Travelers will also have the opportunity to connect quickly and easily onto one of more than 130 plus destinations to which British Airways flies.

The flights will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with BA171 departing from London Heathrow at 5:00pm and landing into Pittsburgh at 8:15pm.  BA170 will depart Pittsburgh at 10:00pm, arriving into London at 10:35am the following day.

Simon Brooks, British Airways’ senior vice president for North America, said: “British Airways is very excited to be returning to Pittsburgh and offering travelers a nonstop service to London and easy connections to Europe.  Both cities have rich histories and bright futures and we look forward to welcoming new customers from Pittsburgh onboard very soon.

“British Airways is investing millions of dollars in the customer experience on the ground and in the air, with a new Club World seat next year so this is a great time to launch this service”.

“We are thrilled to have British Airways serving our region nonstop to London once again,” said Christina Cassotis, Pittsburgh International Airport CEO. “Thank you to British Airways for selecting Pittsburgh and recognizing that our region is back.  We are looking forward to working together to ensure the flight is a success.”
