Seattle-Tacoma International Airport: Sustainable Airport Master Plan Update

The Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) is the blueprint for changes at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to meet future demand.

In addition to a Long-Term Vision, the SAMP includes more than 30 Near-Term Projects (NTP) that are planned for construction by 2027 and are the focus of the current environmental review.  The Port’s objective for the environmental review is to provide a thorough analysis of the potential environmental impacts of the Near-Term Projects.

On January 28, staff will brief the Port of Seattle Commission on SAMP’s updated operation and passenger demand forecast. The forecast was updated to reflect the airport’s rapid growth over the last few years.

Staff will also brief the Port Commission on the SAMP NTP environmental review schedule which has been extended to include the updated demand forecast and
additional analysis in response to public feedback.

The new schedule anticipates that the public will be able to review and comment on the draft NEPA analysis at the end of 2020 and the draft SEPA analysis in the fall of 2021.

Visit the Port’s website for a more detailed SAMP schedule and for Commission meeting materials, including the time and location for the January 28 Commission meeting
