Hampshire business leaders unveil new priority services at Southampton Airport

Business leaders from across Hampshire have joined together at Southampton Airport to unveil a series of new ‘Breeze Priority’ services, ideal for the time-conscious business traveller before they fly across Europe. The new services are optional upgrades available to all passengers to pre-book online (www.southamptonairport.com/priority), and aim to make their airport experience even easier and faster. The services were trialled by guests from the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, Business Southampton, Hampshire Fare and Amity World Business Travel and include;

Service 1 - Close and convenient Breeze Priority Parking…

Passengers can now opt to upgrade their airport parking by pre-booking a space in the new Breeze Priority Parking area.  The special wider parking bays are on the ground floor of the short stay car park, located as close to the terminal as possible.  By pre-booking, passengers can gain access to the car park automatically, park in the most convenient spaces available, and arrive for check-in from as little as 60 seconds later.  The service costs from £28.70 per day, just £5 more than the standard car parking prices (for non pre-booked parking).  As part of the service passengers will also receive access for up to two people to the Breeze Priority Security service.

Service 2 - Save time with Breeze Priority Security…

Passengers can purchase priority access to the security search area.  The special pass allows passengers to proceed to the security search area through a dedicated entrance to complete security screening that bit more swiftly.  This is available when airport car parking is purchased for just an additional £5 (for up to two people).

Service 3 - Relax with a taste of Hampshire in the Breeze Priority Lounge…

Southampton Airport has opened a new ‘Breeze Priority Executive Lounge’, available to all departing passengers to enjoy a dedicated quiet and relaxed space before their flight.  The facility costs £17.50 per person and includes; Breeze Priority Security access, comfortable seating, laptop and mobile phone charge points, complementary WiFi, flight information screens, as well as a selection of high quality locally produced refreshments.

Service 4 - Spitfire Meeting facilities available at Southampton Airport…

The airport also has a new meeting room facility located in the terminal, called the Spitfire Meeting Room.  This can be used pre or post flight, or for your day to day meeting needs from £30.  The room can hold around 20 people and includes the latest technology such as a SMART Board and free WiFi access.  Complimentary parking is also provided for all delegates.  To find out more call 023 8062 7187 or email meet_southampton@baa.com with any requirements.

Dick Oram, President of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, commented: “I’m a long-term Southampton Airport user, and I think the easy and fast nature of this airport is fantastic.  I’m very impressed with the new priority services which are ideal for business passengers in particular, as they help to speed up the airport experience even further.  The executive lounge is bright and airy, creating a nice atmosphere and a quiet escape from our busy work lives.  I’m a real fan.”

Adrian Williams, Director of Amity World Business Travel, also added: “The new priority services are a real benefit as they allow passengers to pick and choose the services which suit their needs.  They are also very affordable for regular travellers.  These services are absolutely right for our customers, where time and convenience is key.”

Dave Lees, Southampton Airport’s Managing Director said: “The new services unveiled at Southampton Airport are available to all passengers as an optional upgrade.  These will be of particular interest to business passengers where time is of the essence and where a quiet space to work on those all important deadlines or hold meetings can really make a difference.  Around 40% of our passengers use the airport for business journeys and so we wanted business leaders from across the Hampshire region to be among the first the sample the complete set of services now available.”
