Sheremetyevo is the leader in passenger traffic in Russia and 2nd most punctual airport in the world in 2015

Sheremetyevo international airport (“SVO”) has reviewed operating results for 2015. The number of handled passengers has exceeded the results of the previous year and amounted to 31 million 612 thousand passengers.
The main trend in the aviation industry in 2015 was the redistribution of the tourism market: from international to domestic destinations.
Sheremetyevo passenger traffic on domestic routes in 2015 increased by 5.6% compared to the same period last year and reached 13 million 809 thousand passengers.
The number of passengers on international routes reached 17 million 804 thousand, slightly down by 3.7% compared to 2014.
During the peak traffic period in December the number of passengers has exceeded 1 million 081 thousand passengers on domestic flights, grew by 7.5% ahead of the same period last year and 1 million 232 thousand passengers on international flights, grew by 1.5% which is more than 2014. Total passenger traffic for December increased by 4.2% and amounted to 2 million 314 thousand passengers.
Main reasons of stable passenger traffic of SVO are:
airport traffic (more than 90% of scheduled flights);
highest quality and punctual services to passengers and airlines;
strong cooperation with our base home Carrier “Aeroflot” ;
passenger growth on Chinese routes (+ 12, 43%);
9 new carriers which start operations to SVO in 2015 – Vueling Airlines, SmartWings, Sichuan Airlines, Ellinair, Azur Air, Air Moldova, Royal Flight, Air Atlanta Icelandic, «Severstal».
265 040 takeoff and landing operations took place, increased by 14% compared to 2014.
The most popular international destinations in 2015 were Antalya, Paris, Prague, Beijing and Amsterdam, and domestic destinations were Saint Petersburg, Simferopol, Sochi, Krasnodar and Ekaterinburg.
In 2015, Sheremetyevo airport has become the winner of several prestigious awards, including “Best Airport in Russia 2015” TripAdvisor “Travellers’ Choice”, “Best Airport 2014” & “Best Innovative Airport 2014” National Award “Air gate of Russia”, National Award “Transportation security in Russia”.
According to the results of the year, Sheremetyevo has made the top three best airports in the world in the ranking of punctuality of flights according to OAG.
