Sheremetyevo Served 28.6 Million Passengers between January - July

Sheremetyevo International Airport has published the performance results for July and the preceding seven months of 2019. Total passenger traffic over the first seven months of 2019 was 28.62 million passengers* – up 13.4% YoY.

In July, Sheremetyevo confirmed its status as the most punctual airport in the world in the Major Airports category, according to the ranking by the American company Flightstats, with 92.62% flights departed on time.

From January to July 2019, passenger traffic on international flights was up 10.4% (15.125 million), while domestic traffic increased by 17% (13.496 million).

The biggest passenger traffic volume among foreign destinations was recorded on flights to Antalya, Paris, Yerevan, Beijing, and Tel Aviv. The most popular domestic destinations were Saint Petersburg, Simferopol, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, and Krasnodar.

The bulk of the passenger traffic volume from January to July was provided by Aeroflot, Nordwind Airlines, Rossiya, Pegas Fly, Royal Flight, and Air France.

In July 2019, passenger traffic in Sheremetyevo exceeded last year's figure by 10.2%, amounting to 5.217 million people. The number of passengers on international routes increased by 5.8%, amounting to 2.801 million people, while the number of passengers on domestic routes grew by 15.7%, reaching 2.416 million people.

Within seven months, Sheremetyevo airport has performed 223,542 takeoffs and landings – up 13.4% YoY. The number of takeoffs and landings in July increased by 7.5% to 35,196.

*Passenger traffic includes 0-2-year-old infants.

Sheremetyevo International Airport is one of the TOP-10 airport hubs in Europe, the largest Russian airport in terms of passenger and cargo transportation.  In 2018, Sheremetyevo airport served 45.836 million passengers – a 14.3% increase on the 2017 figures.

2018 saw Sheremetyevo top the ASQ ACI program's ranking for customer service among the largest airports in Europe whose passenger traffic exceeded 40 million per year and enter the list of the world's best airports, ACI Director General's Roll of Excellence.
Sheremetyevo was recognized as the best airport in the world according to an analytical study conducted by British company Stasher. Skytrax assigned the top rating of 5 stars to Sheremetyevo airport.
