Jet2.com's first flights to Budapest and Marrakech take off from Newcastle

Since going on sale, both destinations have seen strong customer demand, reflecting the growing appetite for exciting city breaks and winter sun getaways from the North East of England.

To celebrate the launch of the new routes, pasengers were surprised with complimentary drinks, sweet treats and handy city guides at the boarding gate. The gate was also decorated with balloons and artwork featuring iconic landmarks from both destinations, offering passengers a taste of what was to come. 

Budapest, one of Europe’s most picturesque capitals, offers something for everyone – from luxury cruises along the River Danube to exploring historic landmarks such as Buda Castle or taking time to relax and unwind in the city’s famous thermal baths. 

In winter, the city transforms into a festive wonderland, perfect for passengers eager to explore its dazzling Christmas markets filled with seasonal gifts and local treats or go skating at the City Park Ice Rink, one of the oldest open-air ice rinks in Europe.

Known as the ‘Red City’ for its distinctive terracotta walls and buildings, it enchants visitors with its ornate palaces, historic maze-like streets and bustling souk markets.
