easyJet has announced new routes to Lisbon and Rome Fiumicino from new base Newcastle, with seats now on sale.

easyJet holidays will offer packages to both destinations, with hundreds of hotels available to choose from.

easyJet will open its new three-aircraft base at Newcastle Airport in March 2026 which has enabled the airline to further expand its Newcastle network, with a total of 14 new routes that will take off this year meaning the airline now offers 22 routes from Newcastle.

New routes launching this year include Newcastle to Antalya, Corfu, Dalaman, Enfidha, Faro, Malta, Prague, Reus, Rhodes, Sharm-El-Sheikh, Nice, Tenerife and now Lisbon and Rome.

Kevin Doyle, UK Country Manager at easyJet, said:

“We’re excited to be launching two more routes from our new base Newcastle Airport to two of Europe’s popular destinations, providing customers in the North East of England, Southern Scotland, North Yorkshire and Cumbria with even more choice and connectivity. Whether they’re looking for a cultural city getaway or relaxing beach break, and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.”

Leon McQuaid, Director of Aviation Development at Newcastle Airport, said:

“Lisbon is a brand-new destination from Newcastle Airport and one we’ve been keen to deliver for the region on the back of strong customer demand and feedback, so it’s fantastic to see flights and package holidays now on sale, alongside easyJet’s new route to Rome.

“These services further strengthen easyJet’s growing network from Newcastle Airport, with 22 routes now available, providing even more choice for the region.

"With just two months to go until easyJet opens its new base, this investment is not only delivering exciting new routes but will also bring significant economic benefits to the North East, including creating 130 direct jobs and supporting around 1200 UK jobs in total as well as attracting more visitors to the North East England region."
