Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) nominated for Routes Americas Awards 2024

Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) has been notified by the Routes Americas Awards 2024 committee of its nomination by the airline community for excellence in route development marketing activities. The airport reached the record of 9 million passenger movements and handles 68% of the air traffic in the Dominican Republic.

Alberto Smith, Director of Landside Operations at PUJ, said they are proud and grateful to be nominated for the Routes Americas Awards in the category of best airport 5-15 million passengers.

“We constantly work in the improvement of arrivals, transit times and the overall satisfaction of our passengers, a goal achieved with the support of the entire airport community. We have incorporated an extension of Terminal B, among other innovations, contributing to the honor to be considered one of the best airports in our category,” added Smith.

Punta Cana International Airport is the first airport in the Dominican Republic to obtain triple ISO certification (9001, 14001 and 14064-1) and, at the same time, receive ACA Level 2 Carbon Footprint accreditation from ACI.

The prestigious Routes Awards recognize excellence in route development across the Americas’ airlines, airports, and destinations. The judges, comprised of airline planners, will be judging the airports on route development content, air service results and effectiveness, relations with airline partners and innovative marketing campaigns.

The Routes Americas Award winners will be announced during Routes Americas 2024 in Bogota, Colombia, March 19 – 21, 2024.
