Punta Cana Airport Strengthens Its Commitment to Accessibility with New ACI World Accreditation

Punta Cana Airport has received the Level 1 Accessibility Accreditation Certification, a recognition that validates its commitment to developing a more inclusive airport experience for people with reduced mobility, awarded by Airports Council International World (ACI World).

The accreditation, granted in accordance with the guidelines of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), the resolution adopted by the ACI World General Assembly in 2019, and international best practices and recommendations, recognizes the airport’s strategy, policies, and initial initiatives implemented to advance accessibility.

During the event, the airport also received the award for Best Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean in the 5–15 million passengers category, earning its ninth award in this category.

These recognitions reflect the continuous evolution of Punta Cana Airport toward an operation where passenger care is increasingly accessible and inclusive. They also reaffirm its commitment to continuing to strengthen initiatives that respond to the needs of its passengers and make their journey through the airport a more comfortable, independent, and safe experience.
