Travel Guidance & Tips

We are regularly monitoring travel guidance for delegates attending Routes Europe. Our travel team has provided information and answers to common queries below.

Antalya combines world-class tourism infrastructure with Mediterranean hospitality, offering Routes Europe 2027 delegates a smooth and enjoyable travel experience. This guide includes essential travel advice, transportation details, local tips, and practical visitor information to help you make the most of your stay.

Travelling into Türkiye

Do I need a visa to travel into Türkiye?

Türkiye offers streamlined entry procedures for international travelers, providing visa-free access to many nationalities and an efficient electronic visa (e-Visa) system for others.

To ensure a smooth journey, please note the following:

Pre-Arrival e-Visa: Delegates from countries eligible for an e-Visa must obtain their authorization in advance via the official portal at www.evisa.gov.tr. Please be aware that "visa-on-arrival" kiosks are no longer available at Turkish airports; travelers without a valid visa or visa-exemption status may be denied boarding by their airline.

Nationality & Passport Type: Entry requirements vary based on your citizenship and the type of passport you hold (Ordinary, Special, Service, or Diplomatic).

Verification: We strongly recommend that all delegates verify the specific requirements for their nationality through official Turkish Government resources or their nearest Turkish Embassy/Consulate well in advance of their departure.

Does my passport meet validity requirements?

Visitors are advised to travel with passports that remain valid for at least six months beyond their intended departure date from Türkiye.

Some airlines may apply additional document validity requirements, therefore passengers are encouraged to confirm travel conditions directly with their airline prior to departure.

Can I request a Visa Support Letter?

Please note that Routes is not able to sponsor visa applications but we can supply a letter to support your visa process. Visa application is subject to local country rules and regulations and Informa Markets cannot be held responsible for any miscommunication or changes.

If you do require a visa support letter, our visa support letter form will be available in July. To apply for a visa support letter, you must be registered to attend Routes Europe 2027 before the request is made. Please be aware that you can expect to receive the letter within 3-5 working days from your request.

If you have any questions on entry requirements or travel to Italy please email routestravelteam@informa.com, for any registration or letter enquiries please contact routeseventregistration@informa.com

Health & Wellbeing

Antalya is home to internationally accredited hospitals, private medical centers, and pharmacies located throughout the city.

  • Travel Insurance: Delegates are strongly encouraged to travel with valid international health insurance.

  • Climate Awareness: Antalya enjoys a warm Mediterranean climate, particularly during daytime hours.

  • Hydration & Sun Protection: Visitors should stay hydrated and use sun protection during outdoor activities.

  • Comfortable Clothing: Lightweight clothing is recommended, with optional layers for evening coastal temperatures.

Local Culture & Practical Tips

Türkiye is internationally recognized for its warm hospitality and welcoming atmosphere. English is widely spoken in hotels, restaurants, tourist areas, and conference venues.

  • Currency: The local currency is the Turkish Lira (TRY), although major credit cards are commonly accepted.

  • Time Zone: Antalya operates on Türkiye Time (GMT+3).

  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi access is widely available throughout hotels, cafés, and public venues.

  • Dining Etiquette: Tipping is appreciated in restaurants and cafés but remains discretionary.

  • Drinking Water: Bottled water is recommended for daily consumption.

Exploring Antalya Beyond the Conference

Delegates are encouraged to experience Antalya beyond the event schedule — from ancient Lycian cities and cliffside sunsets to yacht cruises, mountain escapes, beach clubs, and world-class gastronomy.

Whether networking over a seaside dinner in Kaleiçi or discovering hidden Mediterranean bays along the coastline, Antalya offers unforgettable experiences designed to extend far beyond the conference venue.
