Aer Lingus Adds San Francisco and Toronto Service in S14

Aer Lingus on mid-day Wednesday (03JUL13) announced the addition of 2 Trans-Atlantic routes, which sees the resumption of Dublin – San Francisco 5 weekly operation from 02APR14 and new Dublin – Toronto daily service from 21APR14. The airline on Tuesday morning (0800 – 1030GMT 02JUL13) briefly opened reservation for both routes (screenshot below). Reservation re-opened in the afternoon hours on Wednesday after its official announcement.

The addition of Toronto route marks the airline’s return to Canadian market on scheduled basis since October 1979 (2 weekly Shannon – Montreal route with Boeing 707, schedule at the bottom of this post. Cargo service operated until October 1983). Schedule from Summer 1979 as follow.
