Iraqi Airways Resumes Kuala Lumpur Service from mid-August 2013

Based on Sabre timetable listing, Iraqi Airways resumes Baghdad – Kuala Lumpur service on 16AUG13, after over 30 years of service suspension, on board Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. This schedule is currently not appearing on both Iraqi Airways and Kuala Lumpur Airport (KLIA)’s website, however the carrier issued a press release about this service in late-July 2013, stating it will begin from mid-August 2013.

Iraqi Airways last operated Kuala Lumpur service on scheduled basis (excluding charter) in October 1979 with 1 weekly Baghdad – Dubai – Bombay – Bangkok – Kuala Lumpur on board Boeing 747 COMBI. On Iraqi Airways’ website, its schedule listing only provides operations for the next 72 hours.
