Ethiopian Airlines W16 operation changes as of 19AUG16

Ethiopian Airlines this week begins rolling out Northern winter 2016/17 operation changes, effective 30OCT16. Initially planned changes as of 19AUG16 as follow.

Addis Ababa – Brazzaville – Pointe Noire – Addis Ababa 787-8 service continues operation on/after 30OCT16, with the addition of 4th weekly flight. 787-8 also continues operating 3 weekly flights in opposite direction. Overall frequency to Pointe Noire is 7 weekly, instead of 6
Addis Ababa – Dubai A350-900XWB will be operating as ET602/603 service in W16 from 30OCT16
Addis Ababa – Gaborone 1 of 3 weekly service operates with 737-800, replacing -700 (previous plan: 3 weekly 737-800)
Addis Ababa – Harare – Lusaka – Addis Ababa Boeing 777-200LR replaces 787-8, 4 weekly. Opposite direction 3 weekly ET863 also sees 777-200LR operating, replacing 787-8
Addis Ababa – Johannesburg Boeing 777-300ER replaces -200LR on ET809/808, 1 daily
Addis Ababa – Kinshasa Boeing 777-200LR replaces 787-8, 1 daily
Addis Ababa – Libreville – Yaounde – Addis Ababa 3 weekly 787-8 service, and 2 weekly in opposite direction (788). This replaces existing daily terminator Libreville service with 737-800 and 4 weekly terminator Yaounde service with 737-800
Addis Ababa – Lilongwe Existing 3 weekly terminator service increases to 1 daily. Current 4 weekly operating via Blantyre on inbound will be cancelled (see also below)

Addis Ababa – Lome – Sao Paulo Planned 4th weekly service to commence from 15DEC16, 787-8 operation
Addis Ababa – Luanda Boeing 787-8 continues operation 5 times a week, replacing planned 777-300ER
Addis Ababa – Lubumbashi 1 daily terminator service, replacing inbound flight via Ndola (see also below)

ET870 FBM1430 – 1935ADD 738 D

Addis Ababa – Maputo Planned daily 787-8 service cancelled, 737-800 continues operation
Addis Ababa – Mumbai 2nd daily ET640/641  to be operated by Boeing 767-300ER, replacing 737-800 (ET610/611 by 787-8)
Addis Ababa – Ndola – Blantyre – Addis Ababa New routing, 1 daily 737-800 flight. This replaces current 1 daily Addis Ababa – Lubumbashi – Ndola – Addis Ababa, 3 weekly Addis Ababa – Blantyre and 4 weekly Addis Ababa – Lilongwe – Blantyre – Addis Ababa
