Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has completed its mission to assist Wattay Int'l Airport for the ASEAN Summit 2024

On October 13, 2024, the ACV delegation completed its mission to assist in the services for the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits, which took place from October 8-10, 2024, in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. This further strengthened the friendship and comprehensive cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
To maximize support for Laos in fulfilling its responsibilities for this essential and meaningful Summit, the leadership of the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has directed its functional departments to coordinate a comprehensive review of all ground service equipment, vehicles, and operational personnel from airports and affiliated units. This aims to assess the ability to provide support while ensuring stable operational activities at the unit and complying with state regulations.
The functional departments of ACV, the airports, and the affiliated units, specifically Phu Quoc International Airport and Saigon Ground Services Joint Stock Company (SAGS), have proactively and regularly updated and communicated with the Lao Civil Aviation Authority and relevant agencies on the other side to clarify the work content. From there, they agreed on a comprehensive implementation plan and continuously monitored the situation to promptly and effectively address any arising tasks.
Coordinate closely with L-JATS and relevant units to operate set by the plan of Conference Organizing Committee.
To ensure that all vehicles and equipment used are always in optimal working condition, the technical and operational specialists from the ACV task force thoroughly inspected all vehicles and equipment to meet the security and safety requirements under the evaluation, guidance, and strict supervision of the Lao-Japan Airport Terminal Services (L-JATS) at Wattay International Airport; coordinated closely with functional units to manage the vehicles and equipment according to the plan of the Conference Organizing Committee.
The Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Laos, Viengxay Singkham, expressed gratitude to ACV for their coordination and support in ensuring the organization of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit. The Director of Wattay International Airport and L-JATS also acknowledged and valued the working delegation's professional coordination capabilities and effective implementation of the mission tasks. ACV also sincerely thanks the Lao side for their significant support to the delegation in completing its tasks.
