🌐 Global and Regional Comparison
In the Megahubs 2025 ranking, Tan Son Nhat stands among the world’s most highly connected international airports — a distinction achieved by only a limited number of airports each year.
🏆 Globally
London Heathrow (UK) retains its position as the world’s most connected airport, supported by an extensive global route network and an exceptionally high volume of connections (OAG).
Other top-ranked airports include Istanbul Airport (Türkiye) and Amsterdam Schiphol (Netherlands), which continue to serve as major international aviation hubs.
🌏 Southeast Asia
Within ASEAN, the region’s leading connectivity hubs remain concentrated in major aviation centers:
-
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Malaysia) ranks as the most connected airport in the region and places within the global Top 5.
-
Singapore Changi Airport continues to hold a strong position among the leading airports in the Asia–Pacific region.
-
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (Thailand), Manila (Philippines), and Jakarta (Indonesia) also achieve impressive rankings.
Against this backdrop, Tan Son Nhat’s 45th-place ranking demonstrates that the airport is steadily closing the gap with key regional hubs, contributing to the enhanced standing of Vietnam’s aviation sector on the global map.
