Hanoi - Amsterdam direct route inaugurated, expanding connectivity between Vietnam and Europe
On 16 June 2026, Vietnam Airlines officially launched its direct Hanoi–Amsterdam service, marking the first nonstop air connection between Vietnam and the Netherlands. The route is operated three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays using Airbus A350 wide-body aircraft.
The inaugural flight departed from Noi Bai International Airport with nearly 300 passengers on board, opening a new gateway between Vietnam and one of Europe’s most important economic, financial and logistics centres.
As the operator of 21 airports nationwide, Airports Corporation of Vietnam continues to play a key role in expanding Vietnam’s international connectivity network. The launch of the Hanoi–Amsterdam route further strengthens the position of Noi Bai International Airport as a major international gateway in Northern Vietnam while enhancing connectivity between Vietnam and Europe.
The new service comes amid growing travel demand between the two countries. Passenger traffic between Vietnam and the Netherlands exceeded 122,000 passengers in 2024 and continued to grow throughout 2025, with the Hanoi–Amsterdam market recording year-on-year growth of more than 40%. The introduction of nonstop flights is expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve convenience and enhance the overall passenger experience.

As one of Europe’s largest aviation hubs, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol offers extensive connections to hundreds of destinations across Europe and worldwide. Beyond strengthening links between Vietnam and the Netherlands, the new route provides passengers with more seamless access to key European markets through Schiphol’s global network.

The addition of Amsterdam to Vietnam Airlines’ route network represents an important milestone in Vietnam’s aviation development, contributing to stronger tourism, trade and investment ties while further enhancing Vietnam’s position within the global aviation network.
