Can Tho – Da Lat air route resumes, strengthening regional connectivity

From August 19, Vietnam Airlines will resume the Can Tho – Da Lat air route after nearly six years of suspension, restoring direct air connectivity between Vietnam’s Mekong Delta and Central Highlands as Lien Khuong International Airport resumes operations.

The route will be operated by VASCO, a member of Vietnam Airlines Group, using ATR 72 aircraft, with one daily round-trip flight. In September and October, the frequency is scheduled at five round trips per week, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The restored route will shorten travel between Can Tho – the economic hub of the Mekong Delta – and Da Lat, while providing more travel options for local residents and visitors. Direct air connectivity is also expected to facilitate tourism, trade and investment between the two regions.

Beyond tourism, the route is expected to strengthen commercial links and the exchange of distinctive regional products, including agricultural goods, OCOP products and local specialties, while creating more opportunities for businesses to find partners and expand into new markets.

The restoration of inter-regional air routes will further expand connectivity between destinations across Vietnam, unlock the tourism and economic potential of different regions, and contribute to stronger domestic economic exchange.
