Vietnam – India strengthen air connectivity with new Hanoi–Ahmedabad route
A new nonstop route between Hanoi and Ahmedabad is scheduled to commence operations on 3 November 2026, with four round-trip flights per week. The route will add a direct air link between Vietnam and western India, providing more travel options and supporting tourism, trade and people-to-people exchanges between the two markets.
Air connectivity between Vietnam and India continues to develop amid rising tourism demand. In the first nine months of 2026, Vietnam welcomed more than 670,000 Indian visitors, up 33% year on year. India is currently Vietnam’s eighth-largest international visitor market. Alongside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, destinations such as Da Nang and Phu Quoc are also attracting growing interest from Indian travelers.

Beyond tourism, expanded air connectivity creates opportunities to strengthen trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries. Ahmedabad is an important commercial and industrial center in western India, with potential to generate travel demand related to business activities and trade.
For Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the expansion of international air services creates opportunities to strengthen connections between Vietnam’s airport network and overseas markets, while supporting passenger growth and tourism and commercial activities. As the corporation responsible for managing, investing in and operating Vietnam’s network of 21 airports, ACV continues to focus on infrastructure development and service quality to meet the increasingly diverse needs of air connectivity.

The Hanoi–Ahmedabad route marks a positive development in strengthening air links between Vietnam and India, creating further opportunities for exchanges between the two markets and supporting future growth in tourism and economic cooperation.
