Aruba Airport attended the World Routes Conference 2016

To continuously plan and further develop Aruba Airport’s route network

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) attended the 22nd World Routes Development Forum Conference in Chengdu, China recently where AAA was represented by Mrs. Barbara Brown, Chief Commercial Officer and Ms. Jo-Anne Arends, Air Service Development Manager. It is during this World Routes event that the OAG Marketing Award is also held for which AAA was once again shortlisted as nominee for an award in airline marketing excellence for airports in the category 1 to 4 million passengers. This time around Aruba Airport was unfortunately not one of the winners, but being highlighted as a shortlisted, nominated airport in that category during the awards ceremony was already an honor for Aruba Airport.

World Routes provides a unique platform for route development professionals from both airports and airlines to discuss, develop and plan route strategy. This platform presents unlimited business and networking opportunities by bringing together the world’s leading airlines, airports and tourism authorities, providing as such an efficient cost and time saving platform for organizations wishing to develop and expand their route networks. The conference is spread over three concentrated business days shaping the future of the world’s air services.

The AAA team met with airlines such as Southwest, JetBlue, United, KLM, TUI, LATAM, Copa, Condor, Alaska Airlines, British Airways, and many more. So called City Pair meetings were also held with airports in the region such as Orlando’s Sanford International Airport and Sao Paolo’s Guarulhos.

The conference also provided the opportunity to personally meet with several of the suppliers of Aruba Airport which support and form part of the various Air Service Development activities at the airport. The opportunities for building the current networks and presenting Aruba Airport to possible new business partners were once again well provided for during the World Routes 2016 conference.

“Over 20 meetings were held and AAA is sure that current and new networking and route opportunities have been fortified and will flourish from these meetings”, said Ms. Arends.
