Strong Start to 2025 for Aruba Airport with Passenger Growth in Q1

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) reports solid performance in the first quarter of 2025, with continued growth in key traffic metrics and positive outlook for the remainder of 2025.
In Q1 2025, revenue-generating passengers (RGPs) totaled 432,937, marking a 5.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This growth was supported by a 2.2% increase in total seat capacity (540,258 seats) and an improvement in average load factors, which grew by 1.1 percentage points to reach 85.2%. Additionally, flight departures grew by 4.1%, reflecting strong demand for Aruba.
The U.S. remains Aruba’s top-performing market, contributing 71% of total RGPs. The market grew steadily, with a 1.8% increase in seat capacity and 2.7% growth in RGPs. The Latin American and Caribbean region, holding a 15% share, showed strong growth, with a 13.1% increase in seat capacity, largely due to LATAM’s Lima-Aruba service and GOL’s Guarulhos-Aruba service. Meanwhile, the European market experienced a 20.2% decline in seat capacity; however, load factors across all markets remained stable, averaging above 85%. Additional market shares included Canada at 6%, and Europe and the Dutch Caribbean at 4% each.
From an airline perspective, JetBlue led the market with a 19% share of RGPs, followed by American Airlines (17%), Delta Air Lines (15%), United Airlines (13%), and Copa Airlines (4%). In terms of gateway performance based on seat capacity, the New York tri-state area (JFK, EWR, LGA) accounted for 21%, Boston held 14%, and Toronto, Atlanta, and Miami each contributed 6%.
Looking ahead, seat capacity in the coming months is projected to remain steady, with a modest year-over-year increase of 2%. Gradual growth is anticipated, especially in the North American and Latin American markets, reflecting Aruba’s strategic connectivity and position as a key regional hub.
“We’re pleased with the strong start to 2025, which reflects sustained demand, steady growth, and the continued confidence of our airline partners,” said Jo-Anne Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive at Aruba Airport Authority. “These results highlight Aruba’s solid position in the region and the strength of our air service network as we move into the rest of the year”.
